Specialty courses are designed to provide a safe and fun way to learn new skills, to participate in new activities and to increase ones overall dive knowledge. Enrolling in a specialty course means learning new skills in a supervised environment. upon completion of many of these courses students will be able to dive in conditions that are less than ideal. The following list of courses are available to you once you have completed your open water training.
The PADI Enriched Air Diver course is designed to familiarize divers with the procedures, safety protocols, hazards, benefits and theory of no decompression diving with oxygen enriched air containing 22% to 40% oxygen. The emphasis is on diving with EANx32 and EANx36 (also referred to as NOAA Nitrox I and II). Training will emphasize the importance of proper procedures to ensure safety, and realistically balance the pros and cons of enriched air diving.

The PADI Underwater Navigation course teaches divers one of the most important skills they can master, proper use of the compass. The areas we dive may not always have good visibility and the skills learned in this course will help prevent underwater disorientation, conserve air, lower diver stress and anxiety, reduces buddy separations, and eliminate long strenuous surface swims. Obtaining the necessary underwater navigation skills is crucial to successful diving and safety.

The PADI Night Diver course is one of the most popular speciality courses offered. Night diving provides divers an additional opportunity to experience the aquatic world under totally different conditions than when diving during daylight hours. The same dive site changes significantly when the day-dwellers retire and the night creatures become active. In this course you will learn specific skills and equipment that are required to safely dive at night.

The PADI Underwater Naturalist course teaches divers to explore their natural curiousity in the aquatic world. Students will learn proper techniques for observing and interacting, both passively and actively, with marine life, correcting many diver misconceptions as they progress through the course. Underwater conservation, environmental cleanups and proper decision making regarding when and how to take or not to take aquatic life are all explored.

Since boat diving is a very popular activity and provides divers access to some of the very best dive sites this certification is a must. The PADI Boat Diver course covers topics ranging from proper procedures to boat safety and etiquette. Knowledge and skills discussed in this course include: gear storage and preparation, entries and exits from the boat during various surface conditions, descent and ascents using lines, identification of potential safety concerns such as currents, waves and other dive site hazards.

The PADI Multi-level Diver course is intended to introduce the diver to both the PADI Wheel and the proper use of a dive computer. Few dive sites offer a uniform depth throughout the entire dive. A wreck diver, for example, may wish to explore the hull, the deck, the bridge as well as the crow's nest, all of which are at different depths. The PADI dive tables limit the amount of bottom time we have on a dive like this since we must assume we are at the deepest depth for the entire dive. Through the use of the PADI Wheel or a dive computer we can extend our bottom time and increase our safety factor by beginning our dive at the deepest point and slowly ascending to increasingly shallower depths giving a diver increased no-decompression times. This course will not only teach you how to make multi-level dives, but will show you how a dive computer will pay for itself in a single dive trip.

The PADI Drift Diver course is intended to familiarize divers with the skills, knowledge, planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems, hazards, and enjoyment of drift diving. This course will serve as a safe and supervised introduction to drift diving in the underwater environment. Our goal is to have fun while developing the student's practical knowledge of drift diving as well as enabling the student to plan, organize and make dives using safe drift diving techniques.

The PADI Equipment Specialist course is designed to familiarize divers with the operation and maintenance of diving equipment. It is not an equipment repair course. The goals of this course are to develop the student's practical knowlege of the theory, principles and operation of diving equipment. Students will learn to perform routine recommended care and maintenance procedures as well as the proper techniques used for storage of their equipment.

The PADI Underwater Photography course is designed to familiarize divers with the skills, knowledge, planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems, hazards and enjoyment of shooting underwater still photographs. This course is intended to serve as a safe and supervised introduction to underwater still photography techniques used in the underwater environment. The goals of this course are to develop the students practical knowledge of photographic principles, composition, film types, strobe and available light shots and camera handling techniques. In addition, each student will learn proper preparation, as well as proper care and maintenance of photographic equipment.
